Cultural upheaval of the 1960s in the United States has allowed to develop one of the most fashionable trends of the twentieth century; various subcultures, for example, the hippie and disco continued its influence in the 21st century. In 1969, especially for the magazine LIFE was done photo essay showing the fashion of the time.

 Models were American high school students from all over the country. In the images photographers captured the imagination of an era: people are more liberated, no longer afraid to show parts of bare body, their sexuality etc. It came to the fore musical preferences and self-expression.
